MapConv - Out of Memory

Hi,

I'm just trying to compile a map. It's 32x32. So the texture map is 16384x16384. When I start MapConv I get: "Out of memory".

I have 2GB of RAM and 3GB pagefile.

Any chance to solve this?

Or are there other programs I could use to compile my map?

mapconv cannot work with any file that is over 600 megs. Just convert your texture map to jpg and get the filesize below 600 megs and it should work fine.

Yeah this right here? It's why we NEED sm3 working...

sm3 supports a max of 32x32 (in my experience that is. I've never been able to get spring to load an sm3 that wasn't either 16x16 or 32x32)

sm2 doesn't technically have a max, so long as the texture files isn't over 600 megs. However, Baseline jpg has a limit of 30,000x30,000 pixels, thereby making the limit of sm2 mapping 58x58 (however i have heard that someone managed to make a 60x60, and I would love to know how they accomplished it).

AFAIK, mapconv craps all over itself when fed a progressive jpg, but I could be wrong.

Epic was 40x40. But anything over 32x32 is usually to big to be fun.
