lag ping connection

Post by pouchat »

Hello,

first, thanks to the TASpring Team for this game. I've been testing for 2 day and it rocks !! However, i have a issue during multiplayer game with a very huge ping.

Config :
- 3 PC : (min 2,8Ghz - 1Go - 128Mo)
- LAN 10/100Mbits connect by a Linksys Switch
- No firewall, no antivirus, clean OS, ping < 3ms for earch PC (in a command prompt)

When i start a local multiplayer battleroom, during the game :
- 1.0x speed : the ping indicate 133ms (on the right lower corner)
- 3.0x speed : the ping indicate over 700ms.

It's unplayable, how to solve this bug ?

133ms is a more than acceptable ping in spring.
I wet myself with glee if I see numbers that small.

People don't usually start complaining until you break past the 4 digit mark. Until then the game is very playable and one hardly notices the ping issues.

It is odd that you would get numbers like that though on a Lan.

Are you using the default lobby server or the LAN lobby?

133ms at the starts of the game with only 3 units and 3 players in a 10/100Mbits LAN it's very high ! How explain the difference with TA ping and prompt ping ?

For the server :
1. I run TASServer_033.exe on a machine (192.168.0.2)
2. i set the server address to 192.168.0.2 of all TASClient (in the "Preferences box".)
3. i run TASCLient and connect all my machine on the server
4. a machine start hosting battle (...)
5. all of the rest join the battle
6. game start
7. average ping in 1x speed (133ms)
8. average ping in 3x speed (700ms)

All these steps are corrects ?
thanks for your answers
