Hello i am new here on this fantastic messageboard.

Then we find this cool game and we downloaded it.
When i needed to go home, i downloaded it on my own computer too.
Because my younger sister broke the CD :( of TA
When it was ready with download i started to play and clicked on
spring_test

It started to load *black screen* but then it felt out and a error came

*I AM COPYING THE WHOLE TEXT OF THE ERROR*

Error: Needed extension GL_ARB_TEXTURE_ENV_COMBINE not found.

Try updating your graphics card drivers. Do you know what type of graphics card you have? If its anything less than a Geforce3, chances are you wont be able to play because it doesn't support Spring.

There are two versions of Spring you can download... One is TA Content free (GPL content installer) - and will post a Strange texture load failed message, when you try to run TA based Mods with it - like Absolut Annhilation or Balanced Annhilation.

http://taspring.clan-sy.com/dl/spring_0.74b2.exe

Is the File you should have downloaded...

That has nothing to do with GL errors.

Beat me with a stick for being able to run it with a GF2 without any issues.
I think there are some people running it on integrated.

Anyway, go to the settings and disable:
Shadows
3D Trees
High Res Clouds
Reflective units

Set water to: Basic water

Then run spring.exe, run the commander test script on any map and see if it runs. When it does, try to activate Reflective units and try again. Then reflective water (and so on) until you find the culprit and leave that disabled. Also try to install the latest drivers for your card. You can see what card you have in the device manager.
Start -> Run: "mmc %windir%\system32\devmgmt.msc"

If it's an old nvidia card make sure you get the right driver. Some cards are only supported up to a certain version.

Well guess what Rattle, I'm running it on integrated. And my other computer? A FX 440.

I was only going off what the Wiki said, which is something Doombringer should have check in the first place.

I did what rattle said, but it is still not working, btw my friend has an even worse computer as me so i don't think that is it.

isn't it possible that my computer didn't accept the file?

because when i was at his place there was an option :ignore.

What do you mean with ''run'' i'm dutch.

Start -> Run: "mmc %windir%\system32\devmgmt.msc"

Try this:

Click start. Go to Run. Type "dxdiag"

When the DirectX window pops up, give it a few seconds to find all the info on your computer. Then click on the tab labeled "Display" (its a tab up at the top of the window, 3rd from the left (usually)).

When you click on the "Display" tab, it should tell you a whole bunch of stuff about your video card. (most of the info is on the left)

Once, you've found out what type of card it is, you can find drivers for it!

Run is "Uitvoeren" in Dutch Windows.

Hey, that could be useful... Good shortcut rattle :-)

As to the problem at hand, worst comes to worst you could just go to the display settings for your desktop (Right click the desktop and choose properties). Once the little dialog pops up go to the tab labeled "Settings (far right") About halfway down the window it should say something similar to "Plug and Play Monitor on graphics card" That should be your graphics card.

I'm not sure whether this works with dutch windows though
