Shooting at the sky.

Heres an interesting bug:
Image
The game had just desynced for two players due to an unrelated issue. I was using stun bombers to hit a group of enemy shellshockers (High trajectory artillery). I moved my flashies and stumpies up to take out the stunned shellshockers, and the stun bomber did another run and hit some of my units too (Happens all the time).

When the stumpies and flashies became un-stunned, they were all shooting directly upwards (As if they had high trajectory). No idea what might have caused it.

It isnt the standard 'Shooting at a plane that is too high up' bug, as...
A. There was no plane.
B. Nothing else was shooting upwards
C. Ordering the tanks to attack something else didnt make them stop shooting upwards.

this was very strange.

don't know if it's mod related (BA 4.5), or spring related. it's like the flashes had a high trajectory option and it got ticked for them

Its like when they got stunned along with the shellshockers, they took on the shellshockers high fire angle.

It wasnt just flashies though, the stumpies were doing it too. I doubt its mod related but i suppose it could be.

That looks like that air bug. A plane, such as a fighter gets stuck at a high altitude. All units under it, regardless of type, start firing upward. However, as the plane is so high up, nothing can hit it and all the ammo comes back to the ground destroying everything.

ive had that happen with anti air in games with my cousins before, except there really was a plane to high, it was up so high nothing could hit it, and all his flakkers were shooting straight up, and then shells were falling back down and damaging his base, it was funny :P

Ive looked very closely at the replay, and it is indeed nothing more than the standard air bug. My bad.

There is a voodoo seaplane swarmer way up in the air above the flashies and stumpies.

haha that was my swarmer

since when do flashes shoot at air targets anyway though?

Could it be possible to make some program capable of detecting planes stuck at high altitudes and killing em? It would solve the problem (I think  ).

That replay would have been great had it not lagged the living hell out of my computer. :B
