I've noticed that when directly controlling a unit, it won't allow the player to aim between north and east, though all the other directions are fine.
Mod XTA 8.1 and BA 4.41 I know of for sure.

Depends. A weapon of the type DISINTEGRATOR without noexplode will fly far beyond the weapon's range. You could snipe an enemy across the map if he doesn't move while your units could be restricted to shooting at stuff right in their face.manored wrote:Manual aiming sucks... And many times using a sniper in fps is much more effective than letting it shot radar blips.
