Bots to use [Bot] clan

Just as a courtesy for people in the lobby, could bots/autoservers put [bot] before their name? Just so that others know for sure that its a bot and dont get all confused by something.

i think this should be a rule.
then i dont have to pretend i have friends by talking to bots and not realising they are actualy not real.

I figure the name "EEautoserver" is pretty self-explainatory.

Yeah, but remember the rule, always make something as simple as the simplest person who is going to be using it, and having seen our fanbase in action, I might suggest the simpler the better for the bots

I have no access to the machine cookiebot runs on, and its a bit obvious its a bot anyways.

A custom icon for bots would be even better (something like a computer, instead of the rank icon).

There's no method of identifying bots save by a [bot] clantag for which nobody has changed usernames......

you can identify if there not using TAS client, and therefore you can identify if there a bot (give or take

)

How do you verify that?

@iamacup: only the server and moderators/admins can use that protocol command.

And how do you verify it's not some other client?
It'd need special helper or bot lines additional to mods/admins and mods/admins will have to give the bots the status manually. Better yet is to do the bot tag in the client itself rather than using the name for it, i.e. everyone logged in as a bot account will get a bot icon and the tag BOT in front of it. The server then could use verify to ensure that this isn't a normal chatclient (if it works the way I think it does) and kick it off the server if verify fails/gets a bot only response, perhaps some random encoded string...

what other clients are there apart from that linux one that noone uses because linux cant sync with windows.
being realistic, there are no other clients
and i didnt know it was limited to admins only sorry

Well it isn't all that difficult to write a small client app to mimick something and then abuse it. Better safe than sorry... :P
(one of the reasons why I get nothing done, paranoia can consume so much time)
