I saw a polish guy in the lobby with the clantag SiegHeil and I have two demands:
1. he should change his clan tag.
2. he should increase his sense of nationalism.
3. pancakes.

I think it's quite normal to disallow nazism in the lobby, including forcing someone to change his nickname.

I suspect this is a joke on his part. Obviously, if he is Polish, he probably does not actually support Nazis.

He changed his clan tag to [SH]

I see this thread going nowhere good. American style free speech (anything goes as long as it does not create a clear and present danger to people) vs European style free speech (anything goes as long as it isn't advocating genocide or something equally evil) is a HUGE argument, and one that will not be settled here.
That said, the precedent on this forum and inside the lobby is more towards the European style (we lock flame wars, for example).

I was suspecting the [HH88] guys at first too but they're polish. Or claim to be polish...

Another guy changed his clan tag from the former to [SH].
I think they may be an established clan in some other game.

Poland rocks.
They have Copernicus. And... they won a few wars. Like when they were allied with Lithuania. Just not many particularly well know ones (*cough* World War 2 *cough*). But the Vandals, who are sorta related to modern Poles, sacked Rome. Which was pretty big.
Yeah, all my ancestors on my dad's side are from Poland. And I am at least as proud of Poland as I am of America.
* * *
More on topic... I don't see much wrong with that name. Maybe if anyone were actually offended... And they actually had a good reason. Might just be my American view of free speech.

Its his name he can ( as long as its not blatantly hurtful/offensive to a group of people) do what he wants with his nick. And since i don't see the Polish players up in arms over this leave him alone. Jeez people

There have been multiple complaints and they have been asked multiple times to remove the tag. And neither American or European free speech rules apply here, btw.

anyone promoting nazism is not the kind of thing you want in a mature game lobby. It pisses people off that morons manage to infilatrate everything. its not much better that naming yourself "CUNT_RIPPA". its damn unpleasant and stands for somthing ugly, why the hell should it be tollerated? there was the same issue of people using nazi signs for customs flags and logos in dawn of war.

Cool

I don't really mind that... I mean there are games with a, say, vietnam theme. That's no better than some swatiskas here and there... further more, said games usually hype up the <random war US started here> war, but I've never seen anyone complain about that.
About the lobby, it should be kept PG13, at least. And people who violate the rules should be instabanned for at least a week. Warning them won't get anything done. Guess how large chat networks work. Also they sort of filter racism and other critical (sexual) stuff in the first place in nicknames or channel names, that is.
Violating these rules usually gets you kicked off the server or banned for a couple of hours or even days...
I get the impression I'm repeating myself...

its funny to see ppl that are iritating for a bunch of words before my nick name (like it was the moste importat thing for a while
anyway when i see someone thats claming that some of my perspectives or jokes are wrong and shudl be punished thats gives me just more convincion that the other person has problems with claming his rights and force others to his beliefs

No, they're saying that certain things are
always offensive, unless you're an insensitive moron
In short... you can
believe whatever you want. We're not trying to "convert" you. We're merely telling you that you can't do it on a free chat service offered as part of a game we're providing you for free. Clear?

Officially the policy is that it's easier to be inoffensive then it is to not be offended by something that you've been conditioned to offend you, and thus, wanting to attract as many people as possible to spring, we expect people to be inoffensive rather then people who are offended to change. Ethically I'd probably say that most people who get offended over things are generally being intolerant and should grow up a little, but that is irrelevant to the growth of this community in the forum of player base.

I've said this before.
I think free speech is a wonderful thing, and I greatly enjoy my right to it here in the United States. It is a wonderful and powerful tool of the free world.
That being said, you have no rights here whatsoever.
