i had a crash with my lobby client, and i closed it; when i tried to reopen it but it told me i was already logged in...
a friend of mine told me i still looked like i was connectied (displayed in the list)
how much time do have i to wait until the lobby server will discover that i've lost the connection? (if it does it)

anywhere between 2 seconds to 8 minutes
The problem is known about and it was deemed unnecesary to fix it by the people in charge.

after more than 30 mins i still looked like i was logged in; i've found a solution:
the lobby server seems to keep pinging my IP address to check if i'm alive or not, i still look connectied as long as my ping alive; i rebooted my router --> my ip address changed; so i looked offline to the next ping check of the lobby, then it finally realized i was out of the lobby, and let me reconnect.
perhaps introducing some form of closed loop keep-alive messages to prevent this?

Server side PING perhaps, every 5 minutes (so it doesn't cause unnecessary traffic). Client could response with PONG uint10-timestamp, at least I'd do it like that.
I'd love to see a server side WHOIS as well (and a few others

).

Lobby Server & Lobby Client ping each other the lobby protocol & lobby port.
Believe its 30 seconds till it times out the client.
Maybe there was a threaded process still running after client died on u.
