Can't launch Spring 73b1 with Spring SP 0.6.1

Post by bwansy »

At first, I updated to 73b1 from 72b1 with the updating pack, and also downloaded latest Spring Single Player Launcher v0.6.1. Everytime I tried to launch a single player game, it successfully opened the map, but it crashed after the countdown. Then a message box popped up, saying "incorrect Global AI version" or something like that.
Then, I deleted everything and installed 73b1 with full installer, but the same thing happened, just that the message box says "cannot find global AI library" instead.
In addition, I can't even select the AI's for computer players in the launch menu. There is only one option in the drop-down menu - human.
Is it because of the new folder structure for AI's in 73b1? If so, is there any way to fix it?

all should be OK, if you copy all files from TASpring\AI\Bot-libs to TASpring\aidll\globalai, but it is only a trick. Somebody should compile SpringSP for 0.73

Yes, it would seem I need to rerelease springsp just for 0.73
I'll make it work with 0.73, and probably release it in a few days or so.

While you're at it, could you make it use a settings file to set where the AI path and path to the spring.exe are stored?
Oh and what about a default windows theme (no graphics)?

Having the AI path in the settings file sounds good but why would there need to be a path to spring.exe? At the moment SpringSP just looks for it in the same directory as itself.

Are my graphics really so bad?
To answer your question: that won't be happening any time soon(maybe in some future release).
