The Mystery of the Seaside Cave
In the city of Midian Ex-S.W.A.T. Police officer Mikhael was coming back from his routine patrol on Newberry Street when his partner Jack noticed a door ajar. Mikhael pulled the automobile over to the side of the road and cut the engine. The officer signaled to his partner to join him and they walked near the door, which they noticed was splattered in blood. Mikhael uttered ├óÔé¼┼ôGod forbid,├óÔé¼┬Ø and he signaled to Jack. ├óÔé¼┼ôGo get a gun and a flashlight, quick!├óÔé¼┬Ø Mikhael whispered. Jack trotted over to the car, grabbed the shotgun and flashlights, and hurriedly trotted back to Mikhael.
Mikhael switched his flashlight on, and his partner mirrored his actions. Mikhael then loaded the shotgun and moved to switch the light on in the house. With his partner following closely behind him, he made his way to the switch and flicked it. Nothing happened. ├óÔé¼┼ôDarn, lights are cut,├óÔé¼┬Ø Mikhael muttered. Jack looked around and saw a trail of blood. ├óÔé¼┼ôLook at that!├óÔé¼┬Ø said Jack. Mikhael uttered ├óÔé¼┼ôLet├óÔé¼Ôäós go and see, be careful, one slip up and we could end up like that.├óÔé¼┬Ø They followed the trail to the living room, and saw a wretched sight.
There was a disfigured body hanging upside down from the ceiling fan with lacerations and cuts all over its flesh, blood still dripping. The entrails were spilled over the floor beneath the body. Jack expelled the contents of his stomach, and Mikhael almost followed lead. Mikhael almost dropped the shotgun as he pulled out his radio and contacted the headquarters. ├óÔé¼┼ôWe├óÔé¼Ôäóve got a body, hanging from the ceiling and all chopped up! Get some men down here fast!├óÔé¼┬Ø Mikhael said quite loudly into the radio. ├óÔé¼┼ôOn our way,├óÔé¼┬Ø scratched the radio operator. Mikhael looked around the room for something incriminating, or to help him find the culprit.
He saw some crystalline powder on the floor near the couch. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey, Jack, looks like Methamphetamine.├óÔé¼┬Ø Jack trotted over and inquired ├óÔé¼┼ôYeah, seems to be.├óÔé¼┬Ø ├óÔé¼┼ôPerhaps the suspect or the victim was a user,├óÔé¼┬Ø said Mikhael. Mikhael heard a cars├óÔé¼Ôäó tires squealing and looked out of the house. He didn├óÔé¼Ôäót see anything and figured it was coming from the back of the house.
He and Jack rushed through and looked out the back door, and saw a Jaguar crazily speeding down the road. ├óÔé¼┼ôStop!├óÔé¼┬Ø roared Mikhael. Somebody in the vehicle stood up and began firing an automatic weapon at the officers, they both ducked for cover in the house. Jack unloaded 16 handgun bullets towards his offender and hit him with several of them. The man dropped the weapon and fell out the back of the car. Mikhael ran back to the car with Jack and they started it up. Mikhael drove the car to the man that had fallen out of the car. He was hardly alive anymore. The officers heard sirens and saw 4 police cars coming. When they arrived Mikhael explained everything he knew about this incident.
The man who fell out of the car was Brandon Walls, a 24 year old who came from a poor family. Luckily, he wasn├óÔé¼Ôäót fatally wounded, and could be interrogated. A few hours later, it was found out by interrogation that the victim had not had the money to pay for his ├óÔé¼┼ôillegal substances.├óÔé¼┬Ø Further interrogation showed that a partial hideout was stationed on Rose Drive, a road a few miles from the house where the victim was. The police officers called in the S.W.A.T. team.
Mikhael decided he would tag along, he was a member after all. The S.W.A.T. vans were filled and began a short journey over to the hideout. The vans arrived a half mile from the house and stopped. The S.W.A.T. team moved swiftly but silently. They found the place was hastily cleaned out, and many objects of minor importance were left. Some very incriminating clues were, fortunately, left behind. One was a poem,
By where the shadows lay,
Only visible during the night.
Hidden by day,
Only found by the light.
Mikhael wondered where something like this could be. He then thought about the transgression from night to day and what changed then. The lighthouse was the only thing that he thought changed from where he was. He went to sleep worried and thinking about the poem. The next day, he sat on a rock and watched the lighthouse rotating as its bright beam was blowing the shadows out of its circular trail. He watched the beam dissolving the darkness when something caught his eye. When he saw the light pass under the cliff there was a large black area, maybe a cave, or discolored rock!
He called H.Q. and told them his thoughts on it. They passed the idea and told him to bring three more cop cars with him. He went to the area and found it was a cave, he got his arms out and told the other officers to get ready. He grabbed his flash bang and pulled the pin and hurled it into the cave. A few seconds later he heard screams and yells. The squad moved in and wrapped up most of the mess of people crawling on the ground. He moved for the one who seemed to be the leader of the group. ├óÔé¼┼ôHey, get up!├óÔé¼┬Ø barked Mikhael.
The leader replied ├óÔé¼┼ôI don├óÔé¼Ôäót have to.├óÔé¼┬Ø Mikhael buried his foot in the man├óÔé¼Ôäós side. The leader let out a wheeze and coughed some blood up. Mikhael bent down and put handcuffs over the mans wrists, and said ├óÔé¼┼ôTime to go, buddy.├óÔé¼┬Ø He was hauled off to jail for an extremely long amount of time, with the illegal narcotics as his evidence. Mikhael was unhappy with having even one casualty, but his job was finished with this, and he had no more meddling to do.
