Question: markers for allys or all?

When I dump a marker (i.e. commented marker with "`" and double click) is it visible to all players or just allies?

How about after death? If I dump a marker down when I'm dead and speccing, who can see it?
- 'Allied' Specs?
- all spec?
- all allies?
- all players?

Can you change who is able to see it by the value of the text (i.e. a:comment would be just allies, etc.)

As a side note, when dead, if you do a: chat does it go to specs or your old allies? Is it possible to chat with just specs (i.e. s: or something, at a guess...)

Sorry for the n00b questions... Wasn't sure on the proper name for the markers so couldn't search properly to see if it has been asked before...

while you are a player in the game, your markers are only visible by your allies, and spectators. Spectators can see everybody's markers. When you become a spectator, only other spectators can see your marker.

which exposes a major glitch: specs can erase any markers/lines...

yeah, s: is spectator chat

Cool thanks guys. Got a bit worried when I put a marker in a game and our opponent promptly bombarded the spot... I guess they just spotted what was happening the old fashioned way.

When a spec, if you use a: does it go to the specs or to your old allies? If it goes to your old allies, they ought to consider removing the a: chat ability from specs (or just remove them from their alliance) to reduce the scope for casual abuse.

ally chating as a spec only gets seen by other specs. it is basically another form of s:
