Hi,
im new to this game and wanted to try it out but its not working for me
im trying to run spring.exe just to see the game and how it works
i select commander then i pick one of the 2 maps im given, the game loads but then soon after it shuts down giving me a parse error
"Parse error in download/demolish.tdf at line 24 column 24 near"
i have no clue what this means or how to fix it. i've searched the forums a bit for similar problems but there is nothing i can find

You installed over your TA directory, didn't you?
Spring and TA are different games, and therefore get different folders. TA mods do not work with Spring. They must be carefully ported and bugfixed before they reach any status close to working.
So, reinstall spring to its own directory, and try running it then. Assuming it works, which it should, you may then install any mods which have been specifically ported to spring.
