I'm having a problem with spring .70b3 on Windows. no matter what mod or what graphical settings I've checked/unchecked, I will get a bluescreen/reboot when I try playing, usually within the first minute of the match - this also happens offline when I run it. Is there anything I could try to resolve this?

Any components overheating?

Don't think so, I just cleaned out the insides - other games work fine.
However, I set it so windows doesnt restart immediately, and the blue screen mentions a file related to my sound card drivers - maybe thats the problem.
Is there a way to disable sound on spring, to doublecheck?

did you make sure that you updated all of the drivers? also, do you experience any crashesin any other game?

all new drivers, reformatted just yesterday. the crashing seems to have gone away after turning off a setting in my sound options (immezio 3d effects). I'll have to look into this further the next time I update sound drivers.
edit: no crashing in other games.

What's your sound card?
If its Creative... then well you're screwed because Creative tends to rape people's computers.
Randomly.

I think that sound might be disabled if you set the setting slider to zero. I can remember for sure.

When you have a BSOD, note down the stop code and any driver files it mentions.
Then Google for ti and you'll find other people who had it as well as explanations of what is wrong and how to fix it.
This way you can make sure drivers messing don't mess up everything, and you can find out if your computer is destabilising, and find out why. among other things
