How do i mine for metal?

I click to build the metal miner thingey, and then everything turns green, but i dont know what to do after that to effectively mine metal. An answer ASAP would be appreciated

place the mine (extractor) on a bright green spot, with a left click.
if you're on a map that is all green, anywhere will do, but brighter is better.

I think a toggle in the new GUi with an indicator would be a good idea, allowing users to click to change view between normal and metal and LOS, aswella s telling them what they're currently on. It might not be all to useful for us existing suers btu it'd be a godsend for new people, and it'd make ti all that more profesionala dn user friendly.

But an actual buton on the GUI with a visible on/off state as to wether you are viewing that or not. Would be most helpful to people that dont know what they are doing.

And possibly a tooltip telling you how much metal that point has when under that mode, aswell as how much metal the mex would give you if placed there
