Spring RTS Engine

Tried out this tech demo. It's intended for Freelancer-style space sims and such but with an emphasis on pushing around as many ships as possible (5000+).

They are planning a Mantle version as well which will hopefully bring some clarity to the pro/con Mantle debate. If you take AMDs claims at face value the Mantle version should be 9x faster but I suspect the reality will be more like 1.5x (even assuming you aren't CPU-bound).

From what I read it seemed like mantle was getting maybe 10-20% over the same games on same cards without it, which is a bit short of the old 9x mark xD

Looks like Star Swarm does fair much better on Mantle.
