Looks like the free subdomain springrts.game-host.org has expired. Is bibim the one to be pestered about this? Also if someone tells me the address it used to resolve to I could point one of my own at it, assuming the bridge itself is still running.

a bit off-topic... where is the source code of it? if its not online somewhere, the author of it should create a github project, please!

Great, thanks. And in a few hours ircbridge.xn--d-bga.su will point there.

Indeed the game-host subdomain expired while I was skiing in the Alps, and it seems this subdomain became a paid service meanwhile

The source code can be made available of course, I just need to clean a few platform-specific things here and there before.

By the way, maybe this service could be running on main spring server instead? We could set up a irc.springrts.com subdomain and I would get rid of this thing.

problem with the irc bridge is that you cannot ban nor ignore people on it...
EDIT: or am i confusing this with the Melbot echo thingy?

I think you are. The IRC bridge is just an alternate way to connect to the lobby server using an IRC client. It's not Melbot, which is a relay bot forwarding packets between IRC servers and the Spring lobby server.

Source code is now available under GPLv3 license on GitHub.
The bridge should be available at irc.springrts.com:6667 and irc.springrts.com:16667 soon.
