Spring RTS Engine

So that time travel RTS we were on about way back has a playable multiplayer alpha and can be pre-ordered minecraft style

it looks just as interesting as before, and I would have already purchased it except for the $29.99 pre-order cost, which is making me wary enough to ask around first.

Has anyone played it? is it worth the money? I know google frog has it, hes all over the forums

I think ima buy it as soon as a paycheck comes thru, but with christmas and all I may just wait a while. I do plan to buy it soon tho.

I think it is worth it. Time manipulation in the game works well. It is strange because it sort of plays like an RTS but there is a whole new layer of undoing orders and faking attacks which brings a whole new layer to the game and makes it unique.

The timetravel part is more complex than time manipulation but it is based upon simple rules so if you like pulling apart timetravel movies it should be pretty easy to get your head around. Although it is easy until there are other players timetraveling in ways that you don't know, then causality gets into a bit of a tangle.

Anyway it has thought behind it and is competitive so I like it. Although there are very few competitive people playing atm which is all the more reason for people here to buy it!

lol, IW was competetive enough to keep me interested with a complete playerbase of me, you & sak... I'll invest tonight

It's cool I still got Google's gift copy.
I have to not that the time thing takes away a lot of focus from actually maneuvering units i.e. you need to be able to enjoy the time manipulation aspect to get this game otherwise there isnt much there.

Havent tried it for a few months but last time i did it was hard to find a game, maybe if a few of you get it it can be easier to get a game going.
