And they say good ideas are easy to come by...apparently when you got the people to make excellent art work and animation its still hard to find someone to actually write a decent plot and dialogue.

I don't like it - the previous one with the fat bunny was way better in any aspect...

I know Sintel also was meant to push some new features but to say the truth I don't see any advanced feature being explored in the movie. The visuals are actually not that good - I mean snowy mountains are snowy mountains. The sceneries in general don't seem to have that much detail in my opinion - the forest from that bunny movie had way more to offer...

Then there of course is the plot which I don't understand at all and with an end that gets obvious way too fast. Seriously so this girl stumbles over that injured dragon baby she takes care of for a while which then gets taken back by its mother / father. Now the girl gets angry or something and tries to get it back - what sense does that make? I totally don't understand why you'd search for the baby which is back at its family - especially if it's a dragon family and you have no clue where to look for it...

The actual ending then is a chain of totally strange events. First the "reunion" with the baby, then the "Oh look we tricked the viewer and now reveal what she actually looks like!" and then the cave collapses...

This one really failed to live up to my expectations. The visuals aren't bad but everything feels empty & lacks details and the comic look in general doesn't help at all. The story is pretty much outright dumb and tries to play with emotions it doesn't create at all though. But I guess the soundtrack and sound effects were pretty decent...

No you missed it master... completely.

As a child, Sintel finds baby dragon with fucked up wing, nurses it back to health, and then spends a lot lot of time with baby dragon (years?) and they are best friends, when another dragon comes out of the blue and snatches him up.

She spends years and years hunting for him, find the cave and sees the baby. Only the baby isn't Scales, the big dragon that she kills is scales, but they don't recognize each other until it's too late. When she looks down and sees her reflection in the pool of blood, she realizes that she is an old/older woman.

According to looks, if she was 16 or so when scales was taken, by her reflection in the blood she would at least be in her early - mid 40's. Which means she would have spent ~20 years looking for scales, only to have killed him in the end.

So what new info do you tell me here? Except for the long time they spend together (which I don't think really was THAT long because there's no sign of any growth while you of course can hardly determine if there was some tiny bit or not) you just summed up what I said...

For me the baby gets fetched up again by its parents - the timespan until that point isn't really presented as a very long one to me and the presence of the old dragon would make little sense otherwise (at least dragons crossing the country on the search for a child to grab and take to their home (or wherever else) shouldn't be happening that often)...

It was kinda depressing but not bad.
