Spring RTS Engine

please recommend a video sound editor software with as many capabilities as possible that is completely free.
It needs to be able to work with mp4.
Also recommend commercial programs but only if it is very well known and is of high quality.

Audacity.

Doesnt work..try to open mp4 file,program crashes.
