No, but I agree that it looks promising. I greatly enjoy Stardock titles and their design ethic has always amused me.

I think this is the game stardock were trying to get the 'master of magic' licence for. I was glad they didn't get the licence as GC2 is the polar opposite of MoM in terms of variety and color. If Brad is infusing such interesting things as he can without upsetting the AI this should be fairly awesome.

I purchased it.

They rushed the product out and I am not playing it till its patched up. The developers have promised to keep actively developing the game to its full potential.

At the moment its not that great and not very balanced. But the concept is solid so heres hoping patching fixes it.

I am currently playing Medieval Total War 2 : Stainless Steel 6.3 for my RTS/TBS fix.

I got medieval 2 stainless steel 3.2...Couldn't find any later versions of this mod...amidoinitrite? or not?

What are the major changes of stainless steel over vanilla?

Is this game in a state to make it worth buying yet? The last piece of software I handed over ££££ for was Sins :P

It looks ok. I like Age of Wonders though for the time investment I would currently do other things. I'll probably get this game when I have a lot more spare time on my hands.

My impression is it is not finished so there is no harm in waiting.

well just got kingdoms and SS 6.3...i hope its as good as you make it out to be.

Also i chose savage AI, Byg's grim reality and limited activities form the sub-manager of SS.
Is that the optimal setup?

Grim Reality is a bit to hardcore for my tastes :P. Armies start dying when out on the field and you need to keep your army fed.

I usually play Savage AI / Permanent Watchtowers / Early Era.

Very Hard / Very Hard.

I assume on very hard very hard the Ai cheats like crazy?

The AI doesn't really cheat much if at all. It is still confined to the same recruiting restrictions etc that you are. It is just more prone to aggresion

The only bonuses the AI gets in very hard battles is more health on generals/better morale

i think deus lo vult is harder epic economy :S

still it can get frustrating after 20 turns the game radicaly shifts and the black plague settles in and every army and city is reduced to almost 0 population O_o

deus lo volt is good but i prefer the factions in SS.

I prefer the fighting side to the economic side :P.

Hey, were you reading that thread in Reddit too? I'm curious about how this game cleaned up.

Did it clean up at all?

1.1 is playable.

AI doesn't use the overpowered techs and doesn't equip troops to full potential so no challenge there. Armor is a win button. Research is slow and boring. Unit production is slow and boring. Constructing buildings is slow and boring. Web spiders ruin adventuring. Interface is bugged at places.
