Spring RTS Engine

I don't know if you lot noticed but MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries is free for download since a while. Get it from http://www.mektek.net/projects/mw4/

It comes with MW4 Mercs, IS and Clan Mech packs and the unofficial MTX extension, which adds a million features and a few dozen mechs.

I think someone linked to it when it got released but the site was crashed from over popularity... it appears to be back up now.

Is the long range laser still oped?

Just spent a little while (long while) downloading this only to find it's "Not compatible with my video card."....

Something tells me the devs are still living in the past if their game either fails on Windows 7 or isn't compatible with a modern card (ATI 4800).

Strange, never had compatibility problems with it and Win7 (I have a rather old nvidia card though).
As for the devs, they don't have the engine sources to begin with (those are presumably owned by Microsoft), so there's only so much they can do (but they did patch the engine more than once to enable their new features, maybe it's possible to fix video card problem this way, too...)

CERLL is still powerful, but if you play with heat on, you won't really be able to use more than 3-4 of those constantly because they run very hot. New Continous Beam Large Laser (that weapon was not in MW4 originally), however, it said to be op by some players.
