It is by will alone i set my mind in motion!
It is by the juice of sapho that thoughts aquire speed, the lips aquire stains, the stains become a warning!
It is by will alone i set my mind in motion!

Dude, that is kinda weird. Unless your going to explain it, stop tempting people with your tricks! Nedless to say, i also worked out the book, using your cleverly disguised tricks! Evil though the game is, i have never read the books. are they good?

Well.. Messiah, Children of, God Emperor were the orrginal 3 sequals, and they have been described as painful... I liked them a lot though... then you have at least one or two more "real" ones I forget the name of(I think, maybe only one)... and then about 6 written by his son as prequals/histories which I liked but have been describes as "Digging up and ****ing Frank Herbert's ****ing Corpse" by others... also a movie and a 2 TV mini-series...

Nope, not spicy enough ;-) It's a real bookworms book. Back to your guess though, I used to play the role playing game a long time back - pretty spooky stuff and utterly epic. Not read any of HPL's books though. LOL now we have a second book to guess at (http://www.rot13.com/for those who want the answer - I only just discovered my browser doesn't do rot13 these days - shocking!)

YEAH! I love that guy! I have the game on whitch that quote can be found in, and all the books on whitch the aformentioned games are based on.

Here is a hint... the first book rocked, but the others got really bad, beacuse the auther went crazy.

Dune 2000, The Harkonnen Mentat

ADDON: Id like to say that the prequals are actually very well written, and are fun to read, if not as great as the original

Well, considering you were all talking about the Dune saga, i'm really surprised so many people guessed it so fast.

After all, it is only a small quote. It was actually taken from the movie and not the books (although i know both). The movie is quite old and currently the reading trend is Tolkien exclusive having the fantastic world of Frank Berbert been somewhat forgoten. So, i wouldn't expect so many correct guesses.

The quote is from mentat Piter de Vries(?).
You have here a nice mp3 with the sound of it.

I think i like the Dune saga even more than the world of Tolkien and the movie is one of the best i've ever seen.
The secrets and the conspiracy!
The mistery!
The dreams!
The changing! The revenge!
The legends!
The awakening!

Well I didnt actually guess the book form the quote. I worked it out from the suspicious capitalisation of other people. I have never read the books, or seen the movie. Ive played the game, but did not think much of it. It was to difficult to control from what i remember of it.

I might try to read the books after I finish what im currently reading.

Anyone going to try to port the Dune TC to Spring now?

that would be interesting, real 3D worms could attack the harvesters (with spice as a regrowing resource) :) and its such a damn good excuse for futuritistic old-school war with rifles swords missiles and artillery...i mean the worms are like the fremen cavalry!!! :D

Would be cool if worms (underground of course) could deform terrain above them... damaging buildings not build on top of platforms... like the orriginal games...

The reson why they fight with knifes and swords, but also at the same time have guns and spaceships is because of the Holtzman shild, whitch will stop anything going to fast, but anything that moves slow and stedy witll just go through. However, it also brings sandworms en mass to your location if your stuipid enough to turn it on in the sand.

Not to mention the whole atomic like effect of Lazers hitting holtzman shields

Yeah Dune would fail utterly in spring if you do a conversion based on the actual dune books and so forth.. they have no tanks and so forth and its all melee combat..
