A number of us Springers bought it, and we are all (I think) enjoying the game. The spring group racked up nearly 200 hours of gameplay in a week.
As to the game itself, it seems a lot like how KDR described Section 8, but, not having played that game, I can't make any real comparison. The game, while a little rough in some places, has some very good gameplay. I'd describe it as TF2 in the future with lasers and jetpacks and MMORPG dynamics. I really like how tactics plays a bigger role than plain twitching ability.
The game has 4 classes, which are pretty interesting. There's an engineer that can deploy turrets, med stations, shields, and little minion robots. There's a 'recon' guy who can turn invisible. He's lots of fun to play, but you can screw your team if you don't go after the right things. There's also a medic with poison grenades and stuff, and an assault/tank class, neither of which I've played very much of yet, but they seem pretty fun, too.
There's a leveling dynamic, which can become grind-ey, but the developers (OMG NOT EA!!) seem capable and willing to expand the game and add more variety, so that's probably going to get better with time.
Lastly, the game looks quite nice:
