Neato, this is sort of like the way that with console emulators you can spit out assets.
TBH though I think most/all of what this application does should probably already be possible just by extracting data files, no? On anything even remotely moddable, at least.

data files can be in obscure formats - this doesn't care about the format

You stated there aren't any OpenGL games, I wasn't providing a comprehensive list of all commercial games using OGL, just one example of a studio that uses it.

il-2 sturmovik, countless shooters with quake and halflife 1 engine, Serious Sam, world of warcraft,...
Also Blender, google earth (i think) and some Adobe products...

For OpenGL games there is
OpenGLExtractor, which basically does the same.
