Worm Charmers

Hey, Dune fans. Lol. I was reading some stuff about worm behavior and found out that people can cause tons of worms to shoot up to the surface by placing a metal steak in the ground and loudly rubbing another piece of metal. An experiment was done by worm charmers (people collecting them as bait) to prove that they do this as an escape response from moles, not as a signal to rub up against one another and mate when they sense vibrations caused by rain. 8)

What's new about this? There for a long time have been those metal sticks you put in the ground which is bundled to some sort of electric device which vibrates / generates waves in the ground that make the worms dig up. It's used by fishermen...

They didn't know why rubbing metal sticks against metal steaks that were put into the ground worked.

A mole could be considered cute or a horrible monstrosity. Look at those ugly claws!

In Estonia, I've found some longer than half a friggin meter! Pretty scary, really.
Just have to know, where to look

I saw Irwin holding a ~3 foot worm somewhere in Australia once. That was intimidating. They were like 2 inches in diameter.
