I win at life, the internets, and everything.

Video I spent 3 days figuring out how to make without failing too hard. Six hour render times factored into this.

Run in highest quality you can, fullscreen. Cross your eyes until you see four images. Allow them to slowly relax until two of the images merge, leaving you 3 images. Focus on the center one until you can see it clearly, then enjoy.
No fireworks or anything, just an ancient ship model I had sitting around and a Digg post that inspired me to see if I could pull this trick off effectively. Simple effect, yeah. Still rocks.

A 1080p version too.

Be sure to note the text in bright green. Originally there was a huge obnoxious warning but it disturbed the effect a bit so I went with bright orange. Hot pink was the runner-up.

Sit farther back from the screen! Your eyes get used to it pretty fast but everyone I've shown practically tries to touch their nose to the screen as if that's going to help or something. Try sitting 2-3x farther from your monitor than its diagonal size and gradually get closer until you find something you're comfortable with.

First attempt was migraine inducing fail but I got it eventually. Very cool. Not something I could stand to watch for more than a minute or two though.

YouTube Testing 3D Videos (YT3D)

This
includes crosseyed viewing as well as other 3D outputs, such as interlaced which I use to watch youtube videos in 3D on my monitor - the ones that are done properly.
Here's a video done right. Notice the dropdown.

Dunno, those dimensioncube thingies don't seem to do anything, even after staring at them for long. Am I doin it wrong?

Satirik images are not to be view cross eyed, but parallel eyed.
Viewing stereogram takes a bit of practice. Also, since those are animated, I barely have the time to make ou the details before the scene change too much and I lose it. Lastely, the depth resolution on satirik images is very rough. You can coun the distinct layers.

crane.gif worked fine for me at least... can you usually do "magic eye" images?

Yeah, it takes a lot of practice to get "good" at magic eye... I for one had no trouble seeing the animation without loosing the focus needed... but then again I got so good at eye control when I was a kid that I could manually trigger my irises to expand or contract independently of each other... also, any time I see a repeating pattern of any sort I look it it cross eyed just on the off chance there is a cool effect (keyboard where the F keys are slightly smaller then normal keys are cool)

I used to have these children newspaper things from the pharmacy. In the middle was always such an image and these were the only ones of that kind that EVER worked for me.
But sometimes when "not really looking at anything" things start to look "double", I think i will just keep an image in a tab and if it happens during web browsing ill hotkey to it. sounds like a plan?

why dont we make spring rendering 2 pieces at same time like in that image and then we could play it in real 3d while eyes crossed?
