spring stops working when closed

the title may sounds retarded, i realize but "stops working" in the sense that when the window appears after you've won a game, and i hit exit, it freezes.

i have spring 0.80.4.0
running ubuntu 9.04 on a p4
nvidia geforce 8600

this happened rarely a few weeks ago, now it happens almost every single time i close spring
this is playing BA, but if i remember correctly it has happened when playing s44. While spring is frozen the rest of my system isn't, as i can shut down the computer normally by pressing the physical power button and waiting 60 seconds (ubuntu waits 60 to shut down when i press the power button)
this was not such a big issue before but now it is getting extremely irritating -.-

I have this too, although only on Ubuntu 9.10 alpha. As a workaround I discovered ctrl+alt+f1, logging in, and doing killall -9 pulseaudio. You can get back to your desktop with ctrl+alt+f7

this is frustrating me, i know it has to do with sound (the majority of the time spring starts with no sound, and when i close it i have to do this)
i tried playing evolution rts and when it finishes loading it will stop working the same way, the only way to fix this is to turn sound off from springsettings
why? i want my sound plz :)

Running on WinXP, Spring crashes most of the times when game ends. Not really big deal, but hey, looks related!

Yeah, previous versions did this, but 80.4.1 and later seem stable on exit for me.
