44x44 + space map

Someone make a 44x44 space map pls, or point me to one that already exists.

But not one of those silly FF maps that have "space stations" and "plaents" and other silly crap; just empty space, maybe with a nice skymap.

I have tried, but my computer doesn't seem able to handle it and/or I don't know enough about this crap to make it work.

Hell I'd even accept a 32x32 map!

Can I ask why so big space map ? Is there enough users for such map to make it worth of making ? Or PC's to handle such maps...

Spikedhelmet is a modder. He is obviously working on a space mod that requires superscalar maps.

Therefore, I'll skip the map question at hand and jump to "oooooooh, what you got in your pocket?"

Or he's just been playing a lot of THIS and finds THISspace too small and the stupid 'space platforms' on cosmos too ugly.

Just out of curiosity, why specifically >44x44?

Yes, the fucking space platforms in Cosmos make my heart full of rage.

If I had anything in my pocket, you'd know about it. Your mom would too. Yes, it's for THIS obviously.

make a small black texture, and feed it into mapconv telling it to scale it up and then use voidwater tag to remove the ground

Is the bug with skybox disappearing when zooming out with void water fixed yet?

If you mean does the skybox disappear, then yes that still happens.

Problem is, its mapconv that is having trouble. Whenever I try to compile a large map (even 32x32) I get an error from mapconv about Runtime trying to close or end something, while it's loading the texture. This occurs whether I start with a large texture or start with a small one and try to scale it upwards (actually, to start with I was having trouble with scaling, setting -r and -u to 2 which I THOUGHT would double the size just made 2x2 map!)

Mapconv cannot handle a texture file that is larger than 600 megs, but it can handle jpegs. Just make a 22528x22528 black jpeg with quality set at 1. You'll end up with a massive image that is ridiculously low in filesize.

seriously, can't someone with 4 gigs of ram just pull this map out of their bum? I'd do it but my computer can't handle maps that size.

System Properties > Advanced Tab > Advanced Tab > Virtual Memory Change Button > Set Custom Size to at least 4100

Not sure if it will work anyways but that's what he's talking about.

4096 actually. It won't accept 4100.

Alright, done that, still won't work.

Take the map 'Steel Fields' and set the height to make it all water using that height mod tool then set it to voidwater and import a skybox = instant 32x32 space map?
