Sweeping Lasers

anyone know why this is happening?

Image

is the firepoint not being redrawn fast enough? its always dragging behind the barrel after the turret has switched directions. since its a sweeping laser, it follows the peewee's back and forth path, and when the peewee turns around the laser messes up. or, as you can see above, after it re-aims from being blocked by that tree (can i make it shoot through the tree and splinter it apart or cut it in half?) the firepoint is very slow to catch up.

from above, and when the penetrator is dealing with multiple aiming targets, it looks really clumsy and stupid

beamtime
tolerance

Both of these values need to be rather low for the laser to look right.

As far as what the screenshot shows, that's a problem in the script (and prolly the objects in the model itself). The firepoint needs to be a child object of the barrel. From what that shot shows me, it looks like the hierarchy is messed up.

I checked the model, and the hierarchy is set up so the firepoint is a child object of the barrel. it is definitely in the correct place also

Sweeping lasers usually freak out when the unit is moving.

CHeck out the annihilator in Evolution. I call bullcrap :-)

SHeekel, tell it to aim from the turret and not the base.

Rather, could you post a screenie of your hierarchy in upspring here?

The script too plox.

Edit: FBI and weapo0n too. What is the duration set to?
