I'll have a new SMD file once everything is finalized. But the map won't change so you won't have to re-download that

So Buggi, I just played a game last night on this map, and I have a couple of comments for you.
1) You should post in the description a min-spec machine for this map. My poor Duron 950 couldn't freaking deal (3 player game, every user hit 500 units at one point or another). But that was kind of expected.
2) Metal is WAY too high on this map. I mean, it makes metal maps look crappy. A single moho extractor on a metal rich section of the map was making over 300 metal per tick.
Awesome map. I need to upgrade so I can play it. And I can't wait to try it out with minispring online.

Yeah, I didn't adjust metal to .05 and not .5... >_<
DOH!
The point is, read the desc, the map IS metal, that's the reason for the war.
It shouldn't be a race of resources, it should be more about strategy. To quote Chris T.

Absolutely. Resources are a part of strategy though, and 300 metal is too much for one moho. The one supplied all my metal needs for the game. You going to make a v2?

A new SMD will be available after the hover bug is fixed.
I had the metal during test at +13000 for an advanced moho mine...
That sucker was spinning so fast it started to spin backwards! ^_^

Okay, I tweaked many times and finally have THE final SMD file for this map.
To save download time, I zipped the SMD, so it's a tiny file.

Metal value is PERFECT and exactly where I want it to be. If you've read the description of the map, you know why. Strategies must be adapted.

Have you decided to keep the stepping planes (visible in the first shot), or use something similar to aGorm's desert maps for a more gentle sloping heightmap?

It's the only way to have the mountains and valleys needed and keep the area buildable.
The greater your height and depth difference the greater the effect of height on one shade of grey to another, and with only 255 to use, very difficult to get "smooth."
The desert has smooth land because the height and depth values used were very close together, therefore each brighter shade of grey had subtle effect on the land.
The only way to fix this is by changing the game engine itself and allow for vertex smoothing, which is a beast in it's own right.

Fair enough. Now to leave my modem on all night to download it...
