Disabling sounds doesnt disable sounds

I still hear commander explosion for some reason.

And there might been other stuff, like when i minimize and then open game again, i might hear sounds from the game, or stuff like that... i remember. maybe fixed, idk.

Also when i zoom in to a place where sound is coming from, i can hear it!

Couldnt that sound disabling be made like:

Code: Select all

if(sounds_enabled){
    play_sound();
}
So it wouldnt even try to play sounds when sounds arent enabled...

I think there is some sound range thingy now, it makes the range so small i can get in its affection only by zooming in enough: like it would collect the sounds from very small spot in the middle of screen when sounds are disabled.

Yeah? just give the filenames and a string what i should search in the files to find the place where the sound is played. and then i will certainly fix that bug.

Ah, forget it then.

I dont have time to search million lines of codes when i dont even know how sounds are actually played there.

This was just a bug report... i could fix it myself if i knew the place in the code which plays the sounds.

Im way too lazy to use mantis, its so hard to use, remove this forum if you dont want any bug reports here. Or simply add my bug reports in mantis if you want.

You should be happy that i even report bugs. Or even try to offer my help in fixing them... OR even fix bugs, as i already fixed one 8)

what... just be happy that i even play this game and help developing it.

Im not going to be forced to write bug reports in mantis, as it was a mandatory job for me because i play this game once in a while.

Bug reports in this forum is all i am gonna give you, as long as it exists. When it doesnt exist, i probably wont report any bugs (too lazy for mantis).

Stop whining about my lazyness and take what i am willing to give you for free, and be happy. :wink:

I think that in some cases (like your last 2 posts in this thread) your silence would have been more appreciated.

Seriously, most people are being kinda dickish - but mantis is NOT hard to use.

You find a bug, you add a bug in Mantis. Simple as that. The UI is annoying for tracking/sorting/whatever bugs... but adding bugs is dead simple.

Why should the first response to a bug report be "go patch it yourself"? I realise it's an open-source project and TradeMark is kind of a dick sometimes but that's a stupid attitude.

Vadi and Malric were being dicks, but telling him to file it in Mantis is perfectly reasonable - it's what it's for.

I can agree both me and Vadi weren't nice but when I read something like:
Stop whining about my lazyness and take what i am willing to give you for free, and be happy.
regarding something as simple as reporting to mantis I couldn't resist to respond in some way :P .

Nobody said he is forced to report bugs to mantis. So, as he said we should be 'happy' that he is contributing, he should understand also that the preffered why is to report bugs to mantis.
