A buddy of mine has just got a new laptop with vista(I'm afraid I have little more detail of the machine). He has installed the game and can join the lobby but when in battle screens he gets the red unsync circle.
It did work for a short period.
He has tried un-installing and reinstalling Spring, although when doing so he moves his maps and mods to another folder.
What causes the error and How does he fix this?

He should install the mods he wants through the installer (which has the latest versions) and then he will not have this issue.
