it says "missing default cursor" when i play certain TA mods, why?

You need the OTA content. If you installed by windows, you can get it by rerunning the installer and selecting BA or XTA. Otherwise, you can download the files in http://installer.clan-sy.com/base to the base folder of your spring directory.

I reran the installer selecting only the BA mod and I had the same problem. I downloaded all the files at LordMatt's link and placed them in my spring/mods directory:

otacontent.sdz
spring/bitmaps.sdz
springcontent.sdz
tacontent_v2.sdz
tatextures_v062.sdz

Everything then worked as expected.

They belong in spring/base, not spring/mods. (maybe just a typo in your post tho)
