CANTDO4.wav file in OTAcontent.sdz /sounds! You can delete it or switch with blank wav file!

Doesn't that kill sync?

Hell yeah - this is killing my nerves too!
ginekolog did you just erase it or did you replace it with a "blank" one?

Hmmm, you still could try to replace it with an identical wave file with trimmed down volume. Here - I attached a .7z with a new cantdo wavefile which has identical size, length and quality settings but just a trimmed down volume. It shouldn't appear different to Spring if you repack the otacontent with that...
But I couldn't try it yet...

It'd only work if the hash of the wav file (and the compressed hash) were identical to the original...technically possible but infeasible in a practical sense.

What Peet said. Bug the maintainers of whatever mod you're playing, get them to fix it, or just turn your Unit Reply Volume way down.

They *could* replace those selected soundfiles, which would then have precedence due to Spring's hierarchy rules

Isn't it just a CRC? That can be easily faked?

If that's what unitsync uses, yeah. @Argh: yes, but that means every single ta mod needs to be updated for one sound file.

and while we are at it, there should be a setting for unit verbousity. I recall OTA had one, and late in some big Spring games units just spam the hell out of chat with that annoying message.

This is actually long time request.. duno why we dont add one thick in settings or remove that message when "console verbose level" is set to 0. Not much work but very usefull.
PS: in meantime just set Unit reply volume do 10% of main.
