Spring RTS Engine

First, whenever I press enter to chat is forces me to type in s: (spectater) mode and I have to backspace everything Ive typed to get rid of the s:. I can kinda work around this using alt-enter but its quite annoying.
And secondly, most maps I play on are really dark. It seems random which ones it is, but its so dark its barely playable. This isnt just the map, it goes for units too.
