Spring RTS Engine

I am a total noob on spring, and i was trying to test the maps and units to feel how the game works. I followed the suggestion from the FAQ and created a password protected game on spring lobby and added some bots to blow some stuff, but when i start the game there is only me. No bots, i went over the map to see if the enemy was under "fog" but no cookie for me. It also appears in the final charts that only my player was on the match, it did not appeared my lobby created bots.

How can i do to play with the bots? The AI that i am using are the test mode, AAI and KAI that come with the package.

And i'm on ubuntu gutsy gibbon here.

What lobby are you using?

You need to set the start positions to "fixed" for the AI's to work. Also, try getting the newest versions of the AI's from UF.

AIs aren't listed on end-of-game-stats

are you using SpringLobby from the ubuntu package? if yes please try to compile this tarball which contains fixes for lot of problems ( including singleplayer games )

oh and in SpringLobby, you can just use the SinglePlayer tab to have a match with bots, no need to host battles online

finally, to check if there are any bots in the map, use

.cheat
.spectator

Been there, none worked, but the funny thing is that when i add several bots, the only ones that appear on the map is my allies. The map does indeed works with bots, but i cant fight any of them as the only ones that starts the battle are the ones allied with me.

you only need a basic build system and wxgtk2.8-dev

PS: the singleplayer crash is fixed in that package

After recompiling everything works perfectly. Single player or bots on online hosted game.
