Skipping build terraforming...

I've found out that if you order a con unit to make a building and then, after making the base of it, make the unit repair the building and it skips the terraforming part!
I actually didn't get this all terraforming deal when building structures, because 1) unit takes it time to terraform first and then build the building itself with full efficiency 2) It takes long time for low buildtime units to terraform(ex. con planes) 3) The whole terraforming doesn't help in any way, It just makes buildings not float in the air and I never can build a factory from which units couldn't go outside! + after completing the structure you can restore the ground under it!!

I think it's an engine issue. Maybe the developpers initialy wanted to force the terrain being made flat to be builded.

Is this a bug? Sounds like a feature. I use it sometimes, when I am bored enough to micro that much

that terraforming should be faster, then i wouldnt pay attention to it, and do that same trick as said in the first post.

It can be like 10 seconds win on some maps, or even more, depends how rough the terrain is.

With a lua script about 10% faster building of structures!

One way to do it would be have the building, as it's being constructed, transform the land underneath it... synced to the speed it is being built at... so that the construction finished at the same time as the flattening.
