ATI drivers Vista and glitches, new insight

My laptop has an ATI gpu, and vista, and ATI vista drivers have not been very nice.
However ti seems that the horrible coloured lines bug and the map turning cyan all dissapear when playing mods with no 3do units!
Kernel panic 1.5 with svn spring ran without this bug albeit at a slow speed.
