Further landscapes like in Total War games.

We should ask how the creators of Total War series made the terrain after map borders so that it wouldn't effect CPU speed much. Well the further the landscape goes the less quality it has! Either Spring could generate the landscapes for the map or the map file should contain this!

Even Warcraft 3 had something almost similar just unplayable map areas!

SM3 already supports this

Too bad Spring doesn't really support SM3. (hohoho  )

SM3 supports defining a playable area of the map. Sadly that's all it is, there's no working implementation that will run with anything but the entire map as a playable area.

There is no real 'trick' behind making a game with larger maps or something, it's just that spring is totally hardcoded for the current way.
Ideally there would be an abstraction of the heightmap data in some way, but there isn't.

So sad.would be very cool to have that option as a mapper(not that i am one) but i'd imagine mappers would like that.
