Should unit sprite images be transparent?

Using Geforce 8800 GTS

Is it bug in spring, or feature in spring, or bug in gfx drivers?

At my Geforce 6600 those sprites didnt even work (some random noise only) :P

Same happens for me:
Linux, GF 8500GT

Workaround: make "Unit detail" higher or "Unit icon distance" lower
It only happens when units have a certain distance depending on the "Unit detail" value

this really needs to be in feature request.

I agree the grey backgrounds are ass and fail.

I don't see those but for me units turn grey when sprited.

Yeah, mine are just random noise on a grey background. Using an ATI Radeon 9200.

(don't laugh :()

Same(Gray things) for me Linux ATI Xpress 200 (Don't laugh, too. I'm using a Laptop currently)

never happend on me :o
using windows xp pro with ATI Radeon X600/X550 Series

maybe its a bug on your graphic card?
