After I .give units, no units of mine will shoot at all.

I've had problems with cheating in units where they won't fire at all.
Exemplia Gratia: .give 5 arm_flea
I then select them, tell them to attack a point, or a unit, or a building. They move into position, range-find, and jostle around a bit, but will not fire their guns.
After ordering a Square Rook, in NanoBlobs, to attack the ground, he just went over to the attack point and moved his turret a bit.
I refer to all units. I tried a .give all, and still, after cheating the units in, none of my units, including those which I had not cheated in, would fire their weapons.
This occurs for ALL mods, Fleas vs Krog, Eternal Struggle, XTA, and more.
What can a poor squirrel do?
Of course, I could just not cheat, but where's the fun in that? Besides, cheating works for other people, and on my other computers. I know the cheats are unstable, but if anyone has this problem or knows how to fix it, let me know.
Post Scriptum:
Usually I hesitate to start threads, but after searching for this so much, asking people, and still coming up empty-handed, it's warranted.
