LOL, for once, I'm ahead of everybody on the geek-trendiness. I've known about this for over two months. I'm actually kind've underwhelmed, I don't find mouse-keyboard to be that annoying, and the demos thus far have me going, "um, and we're going to want to spend $6000+(estimated) for the ability to vaguely finger-paint on stuff?" I mean, even if you're a OCD sufferer, you'd still streak some grease on it, every time you used it. Just think how dirty the screen would get, if you occasionally worked with food or drink around 
What I want, though, is a screen I can paint on, by hand, with a pressure-sensitive tablet. They currently exist, but they're too darn expensive. However, it looks like there might be cheaper ones coming out soon:

I saw that they've hardly had any buzz about this thing- I guess I just got Google-lucky (literally, their homepage has only had about 2600 hits). Spread the word about this product- I've already emailed their sales director, asking when they'll make this product available for the markets here in the USA, and I'll be really surprised if it's not half the cost, or less, than the only competing products, which are aftermarket add-ons for LCD displays- this could be a really big deal for everybody who'd rather just draw in a natural way, instead of using a mouse all the time!

I got a reply back from their sales director. She offered me a sample for $390, "special evaluation price". Compared to almost $2500, for the after-market clipon thingy from Wacom. OMG, if this thing is even halfway decent...
Now all I've gotta do is figure out where to get about $475 (gotta ship it from Taiwan) and I'm all set

Yeah, on eBay. For more than twice the price, for less than 1.5X resolution. While these aren't huge screens... meh, I dunno about you non-artist guys, but what I would use it for is closeup work- being able to do airbrushing work and detailing freehand would be fricking awesome, in terms of saving me time.
At any rate, I spoke with a friend of mine, who actually has money, and we're going to purchase one, ship it here, and evaluate whether it's marketable. I think that the DeviantArt crowd would totally dig this- a reasonably-priced video tablet, even with a small markup and shipping charges (maybe around $600, all told), would probably sell well. We'll just have to see if it meets expectations. After all, it may be a piece of junk.
Worst case scenario, I get a free touchscreen with pen Best case, I make a few hundred bucks, marketing this somewhere, or something. Either way, it's a lot more interesting than an overpriced interactive coffee table
