75b2 crashes: missing openGL ext. + hardware reqs

I still get two errors that maybe responsible for frequently crashing 75b2:

1. You are missing an OpenGL extension needed to use shadowmaps (fragment_program_shadow)
2. Hardware is incompatible with Xray shader requirements

The last line of the stacktrace normally looks like this:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\kernel32.dll(RegisterWaitForInputIdle+0x49) [0x7C816FF7]

I am sitting on 3GHz AMD XP, 1GB RAM and a GF 4200ti, WinXP SP2.
Any countermeasures?

Look here http://spring.clan-sy.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=11274, this should be the same bug.

I use the same settings for 74b3 as for 75b2. 74b3 never crashed so far. It would be hard to scale down even more, since pretty much everything graphical is turned off or set to low.

4200... Is that an MX? A regular GF4 should be able to handle that. You get errors because your card can't do the shaders, either your drivers are bad or your card is.

It's a normal GF4 I suppose, I never came across MX anywhere so far (if it is though, at least dxdiag should mention it, right?). 74b3 runs fine. If shader support has been changed in 75b2, what do I do to disable it? I don't care much for graphics anyways.
