.skip doesn't work properly

First time I tried .skip, I typed .skip +1200, and the game crashed to a black screen with one white pixel in the centre of the screen, while my taskbar icons flashing when my cursor hovered over. Later I tried smaller values, namely .skip 40, and the replay ended with the "you won the game" window appeared, while clearly both commanders had only built a few solars, and the clock showed 2:28.

I had that too but I had some red pixels in the middle!
