its not just XTA, this happens in all mods

a good alternative to fixing this would be to give the host a .gameover command

Yes, because why fix a problem when you've got duct tape?

well i'd actually rather have a .gameover command for the host ifor those occasions of having to hunt down someone's stupid ass dragon's eye to get stats, not that the problem shouldn't be fixed anyway 8)

If you can't hunt down my last unit, or my hidden full base, which has happened from time to time, you don't deserve to win. You haven't defeated me.

This is fixed, it was checking teams instead of allyteams.

hidden full base, of course, but i'll argue that the game is over once a team has no attacking or construction units (ie, nothing but economy units, or radar towers, or dragon's eyes, etc)

Actually, the only game that has happened in for me this year was on Tabula. I was T2 all over again, with an anti-nuke and a light T2 economy, all hidden by T1 Radar Jammers on the North cliffs.

how about a lua gadget/rule/whatever wich ends the game for a player wich has no builders/factories/military units?

released as mutator offcourse as in some team games, you might still take information advantage of the few radars/cameras from the almost-dead player

I'm of the opinion that a player shouldn't be gameovered until his whole team is dead. The reason is that he can still be very useful by gifting him control of his friend's units.

Appropriately, when someone's about to die, make sure you give them a wind generator in your base or something, if you can't give them a construction unit right away.

I agree with this. Also, .spectator should be a non-cheat command that should ophan your units for .take.

.gameover command would be lame, and people would use it to end the game just to piss you off.

"they dont have much units left, lets make it .gameover and quit"

but you cant know can you win or not... sometimes, you might win even if it looks like you are losing :O
