Spring RTS Engine

Hello, new mapping hopeful here. I got the trial version for L3DT Pro and generated a really simple desert map, basically following the walkthrough except using a terrain map 8x Height map, according to Spring.

I try to use the plugin but nothing happens. I click Extensions->L3DTio_Spring->create spring maps but the metal/type/vegetation maps don't show up. Am I missing something?
