Sync errors

Ever since I downloaded TASClient v. 33, I have constantly been getting sync errors when I play online- no matter what mod I try. Is there anyone who might help me alleviate this problem?

BTW I am running the game on Windows XP,SP 2.

Ah and here is my problem. It happened 3 times that I can´t see units (My units and friendly units). And I must close Spring. I can choose start position and press ready but nothing else.

Actually, tasclient v0.33? Is this one of satiriks builds?

If there are different versions of tasclient I would ask you post the script.txt used. Same for you Agon. Ideally from someone who can play normally, Agon and you all in the same game that desyncs.

I was only in one game with magui.

Hmm..something's broken there, you were playing EE but the script had SB side names? I've had that happen when I use JOINBATTLE to join a battle that I don't have the mod for...unitsync dies and gives the wrong side names and such.

spaem is the name of a race from simbase I think.
In Aflobby it displayed spaem but there must be written a differed name.
Maybe Aflobby get the race name from simbase all the other games (In one application session) and wrote its in script.txt.

Nvm. I just deleted (after backing up my mods and maps, of course) and then redownloaded Spring, and the sync errors are gone. :-)

Hi magui, hello everybody,

I had the same sync error a few days ago (same error message, and then a progressive fall apart until everyone is playing a separate game...)

I've been browsing posts on french forums about this error, and someone recently recomended to delete the SJ registry folder.

They say:
(Quote) in the Start Windows menu: execute "regedit". Then delete the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SJ
Then reinstall Spring, and it will work (/quote)

I did that and it seems to work (i say "it seems" because I only played once for the moment).

My question: if this really works, what this SJ folder have to do with the sync errors???

It really doesn't. Sync errors are generated due to flawed computer -> computer interaction, which is impacted by processes running, hardware configuration, connection issues, you name it.

Sometimes people think that they've caused thigns to fix by doing strange things. Scientists have gotten children to generate strange tribal rituals to make sweets come out of a shoot even tho the shoot dispenses sweets based on a simple random number generator.

The children behaved superstitiously and did all manner of things to coax out the sweets. The same behaviour has been shown to be exhibited in adult humans and chimpanzees.

Its especially common when dealing with computer issues.
