Tree rendering problem (and fix)

Having a problem with my trees. They render at long ranges and disappear at close ranges. They're also drawn strangely, as if the engine is drawing from the wrong textures sometimes - for instance, I commonly have the leaves drawn as bark - and that's when they're drawn at all.
I did a forum search and found that this is not a new problem, but didn't find a solution. All my detail settings are at the very maximum.
It's getting really annoying to look at. I also don't know where trees are half the time, so I might be testing a unit and it randomly can't find a way to hit the target, but there's really a tree in the way... and so on...
If this has been fixed, is there a SVN build I can grab somewhere?
