Spring RTS Engine

My friend Shamon cant use the minimap to move about the map. Anyone know what the problem is and how to fix it? Much appreaciated.

maybe he is using the wrong mouse button?
middle click is pretty unusual i think.

theres also settings.exe -> mouse input -> [x] minimap 3 button mouse support.
no idea what it does.
