Factions?

I'm probably going to get laughed at for this... but I can't seem to switch factions. :|

I'm currently just playing the single-player mode, in either XTA, balanced, or extreme annihilation.

I hit the spring application, and I get a big list with the various scripts to run on it, then another for the map, and another for the mod. After that, the game sticks me on the map, and waits for me to hit return to start the game ("Waiting for communications. Press return to start."). I get the impression that somewhere there's a spot where I can tell the computer to start me up as core instead of arm, but I can't seem to find it. Is it some arcane command-line style interface that I just haven't figured out, or am I doing my usual missed-it-because-it's-hidden-by-my-nose routine?

Thanks.

If i'm not mistaken, u are using the spring.exe nothing else???

If so, i recommend getting spring SP or logging into the lobby and starting a single player game from there. From there you can switch your faction and also choose between ai's (there are a lot of them and they all do different things better than the other)

Hope that at least helps a little.

Hmmm. I did get springSP... it gives me an error message: "File Not Found: unitsync.dll 53". Additionally, when I try the "spring multiplayer battleroom" (which appears to link to TASclient.exe), windows can't find the exe. Should I just reinstall spring or something? I appear to be missing some critical components. Thanks anyway.

springsp must be in the same folder as spring to work.

Thanks. The .cheat>.team 1 works. I think that that should be all I need for now.

Yes, it is true that games run directly from spring.exe can't change sides.

You could also write a start script. You can chose a side with just Spring.exe and that, that's how I do it since SpringSP and the lobby don't work with Mac yet.

You unselected the lobby client when you installed spring...Just reinstall and make sure everything is checked.
